I've had a similar thing happen (but with nowhere near that ammount). The gaming place it occurred in gave me a free dinner and some vouchers to make up for it, but the next day there was someone playing that same machine. The one I was assurred would be removed from the gaming room.

I like to just count out the seconds in my head and once I get to the counter I tell them that 248 seconds have passed since I stood in line. Normally they just look at me with a blank stare, but sometimes they will also begin counting in their heads to try to see if they can make me wait longer. Head counting should be illegal.
