Thats why the last sony product i bought was a discman back in '94. Since then I have avoided them at all costs. There was a day that they were a very innovative company and the premium price for their products was backed up by quality. Now that premium goes towards P.R. snafus and helping covering costs of yet another failed sony experiment (i.e. any standard format they try to introduce or copy protection scheme) I'm so glad I washed my hands of this company and have had very pleasurable technology life since doing so, saved a lot of money along the way as well. I just hate that sony distributes so many anime movies because it keeps me from supporting very talented artists that otherwise would get my money.
