I agree to an extent. I'm sure if the rich well connected guy had been black he'd get off just as easily. If you have money and power, there's not much you can't get away with in this country. But the real issue is how equal do we treat less fortunate people in this society, I seriously doubt if the poor guy had been white he'd get more than 30-60 days in jail if even that, much less a life sentence.
