If you are a fan of 2001:A Space Odyssey, I think you will love The Fountain. I did. There is an amazing scope and feel to the film.

The fact that anyone is defending either the SS agent or the guy in the casino is hilarious. You'd think they'd be smart enough to identify legitimate US currency. If they can't, they're seriously in the wrong line of business. The ONLY thing the SS agent should have been allowed to do was validate the authenticity of the currency, and then, if and only if it was determined that the currency was bogus, should he have been asking questions.

It was a malfunction. He should have taken the money they offered him. It was the max it was supposed to pay out.

How would something like this hold up in court?

I'm not sure it's the person playing Bond so much as the settings and time of the film. The 60's - 70's bond flicks just have an exotic feel to them. I just don't like the look of modern movies for some reason. I can't decide what it is. Maybe it's that every "live action" flick seems more like a cartoon from all the CG work. CG has it's place but every movie uses it these days. I'm sure there's a film expert here that can tell me what it is about the modern film that I hate. I'm probably just getting old, but I prefer the "not-so-perfect" quality of the films in the older eras.
